Electricity unions 'all-in' to
enact durable power equipment legislation.
57th regular general meeting was held
to discuss resolution
Appointment of the chairman at the
extraordinary general meeting on March 27.
The Korea Electric Industry
Cooperative (Chairman Kwak Ki-young with the Electricity Union) will step up
efforts to enact durable legislation of power equipment such as distribution
boards announced last year.
If the related legislation is revised,
a new market worth about 1 trillion won is expected to open.
On February 21, the Korea
Electricity Association held the 57th regular general meeting in the auditorium
on the fifth floor of the Korea Electricity Association. More than 100 industry officials attended the meeting.
Kwak Ki-young, chairman of the
Korea Electricity Association, said, "For the Korean electricity industry,
which has been in a slump since the contract system for the number of
organizations, the durable legislation of power equipment such as distribution
boards will be a priming water to seek a new leap forward."
"We
will expand Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) fr|om current distribution boards to
solar power generation devices and energy storage devices," he said.
"We will strive to further register and activate orders for excellent
distribution boards."
"We will open related
curriculums to train distribution board design and estimation personnel and
improve job skills that member companies are struggling with," he said.
"We will try to ensure that the electricity union is registered as a eligible
energy storage union."
On the same day, the Korea
Electricity Association decided on ¡ã 2018 settlement of accounts and retained
earnings (proposal) ¡ã 2019 business plan and balance budget (proposal) ¡ã
dividend disposition (proposal) ¡ã amendment of articles of association ¡ã the
number of annual recommendations and contract limit (proposal).
At the regular general meeting,
commendations were also made for those of merit. The Minister of Trade,
Industry and Energy's commendation was received by Shin Sang-kyun, CEO of
Dong-A Electric Co., and Lee Kyung-soo, CEO of NP Industrial Electric Co., Ltd.
The commendation fr|om the Minister of SMEs and Startups was received by Yoon
Ki-hyung, CEO of 2Zis System, and Hong Dae-hee, CEO of Pungsan Electric Co. LTD.. In addition, commendations fr|om
the head of the Public Procurement Service, commendations fr|om KEPCO's
president, commendations fr|om the head of the Korea Federation of Small and
Medium Business, and commendations fr|om the chairman of the Korea Electricity
Meanwhile, an extraordinary general
meeting of the electrical association will be held at the Grand Ballroom of the
63 Building Convention Center at 3 p.m. on March 27. At the meeting, the 25th
chairman of the Korea Electricity Association and executives will be appointed
by the members' votes.
